Original IT-Infrastructure-Installation for the Cleopatra Group

The fact that the decision of the internationally acting Cleopatra Group as shareholders of the newly built club grounds Aldiana Makadi Bay in Hourghada, Egypt went to based on IT, was a pleasure to the GM, Philippe Amstutz: ‘That a company is able to professionally select 5 servers, 68 PCs, 47 printers and 26 POS systems at a good price should be normal, even if – as in the present case – an upcoming hotel opening requires a very fast performance. But the fact that the delivery arrived already one week after the ordering correctly at the airport has heavily impressed us. That afterwards the team of engineers had installed this system perfectly and fast at the same time convinced us definitely: if IT is supposed to function, then based on IT should be the first choice.’

Spa Treatment Booking System

Our staff members want to dedicate themselves fully to our guests and not to deal with technique. It supports with mySPA a planning system which is so easy to handle that you can use it quietly while attending to your guests simultaneously – and while doing so a reliable reservation of capacities and treatment rooms is guaranteed. How user friendly it is can also be seen when watching our employees who - all of them no PC-experts – are able to deal with the system skillfully only after some minutes of instructions.’ For the Grimming thermae in Bad Mitterndorf a new treatment reservation system was implemented in addition to the original installation of the overall IT-infrastructure of the hotel and the thermae which is completely integrated into the Fidelio Front Office and the Gartner access system via myPOS point-of-sale systems.

Webbased Point-of-Sale System with PMS-Interface

‘Perfect system’, in the opinion of Paul Schubert, former à la carte restaurant manager of ‘Zum Heurigen’, Aldiana Bad Griesbach. With the decision for this product Aldiana can save 4,000 € per cashier station compared to the conventional POS. The savings are realized on the one hand by hardware independence and on the other hand by individual open-source-based programming and the license terms that do not force an expensive service contract on the client. Characteristic of the state-of-the-art technology is the completely web-based user interface, which – as far as hardware is concerned - can be retrieved by any PC via browser. Aldiana has preferred to operate with the touch screen monitors by which the conventional point-of-sale service is simulated. Beside a simple POS for additional sales in all-inclusive-clubs a complex restaurant POS was created.

Gut Ising Resort at Lake Chiemsee

The hotel grounds ‘Gut Ising’ offer a special charm for golf-, horseback riding- and polo enthusiasts. Therefore, when having designed the website, the intention of addressing the visitors emotionally was brought into the foreground. It is their curiosity that should guide you through the range of manifold events of our sports- and wellness manor. To guarantee that you are always up to date, the hotel itself is responsible for the maintenance of the contents. Robert Marat, director of the Hotel Gut Ising says: ‘based on IT made an excellent job when realizing our ideas on the website. During the whole time of our website development we could enjoy their permanent acting as advisor and also in the after-sale phase the personal and by-phone-support were even exceeding our expectations. On the one hand we received a fist class product in terms of creativity which was praised by our guests over and over again due to its appealing illustrations, on the other hand, in terms of technology, we attached great importance on a proper programming in order to meet the requirements of the different Internet landscapes. Based-on-IT had the good sense to implement the website on the basis of Open-Source-CMS Type 3 which allows to our employees in a very simple way to keep the Gut Ising website updated and interesting. Overall, an excellent project implementation that created sustainability.’

Innovative Hotel Upgrade Product

In 2004, Nor1 Inc. came to based on IT for prototyping of a unique upgrade system for the hospitality industry, an idea developed and patented by Nor1 founder, Art Norins. The technological work undertaken by based on IT involved creating a conceptual design and converting it to a prototype, which ultimately withstood all stress tests during the initial roll-out phase of the Nor1 product, called eStandby Upgrade®. With eStandby Upgrade, guests view an easy-to-use web page, complete with high-quality photos and detailed descriptions of available upgrades at their hotel, and commit to pay a reduced price for an upgraded room or amenity, if it is offered by the hotel at check-in. By awarding discounted upgrades for rooms that either would remain unoccupied or undersold, hotels increase their bottom line as well as guest satisfaction and loyalty.

Corporate Design Development and Internet Presence

For the Centralhotel in Rüdesheim we developed a web design including a new logo and a conceptual design for the application of colors and fonts. We realized the technical implementation via TYPO3, which enables the hotel team to make a comfortable maintenance of the contents in designed offer elements. The presence is search-engine optimized, trilingual and includes driving arrival instructions and booking requests. Beyond the Internet presence, the Centralhotel Rüdesheim relies completely on our 24/7 IT infrastructure support when it comes to technical problems.

In the Horst Axtmann publishing house there was a great number of DOS-applications based on DataEase®, by which nationwide statistics of cinema visits (Box Office) were made and all movies are reported, which were shown in Germany since 1970, on a weekly basis and published in the weekly magazine ‘Filmecho’. The new system having skipped three programming generations is so ergonomic that the effort for data hosting could be drastically reduced. The import into the DTP-Software (Quark Express) as well requires no longer a conversion; the data transfer goes smoothly.

Seminar Database with integrated online Booking

Via a webbased client database Exina employees are able to do the data hosting of regular clients and the product master (seminars and trainings), to assign certain products to the respective clients, and based on this, create statistics, exports and invoices. In addition, there is a direct link to the website and hence clients can book online desired seminars and courses on their own. The agency of business set-up called Exina is in charge of the administration of the two websites using TYPO3 within a single CRM which makes the application of joint contents elements and stored illustrations or file elements such as graphics material possible.

Sponsoring: In-class Websites

This portal is an in-class auxiliary tool to make available media, pictures, homework, deadlines and information to all parents within the class community and provides for example the possibility of putting oneself on the list as volunteer for an upcoming event or to jointly check the lists. Only teachers and family members that belong to this class community are authorized to access these password-protected contents. Based-on-IT has designed this portal for a school and makes it available to everybody who meet the hosting costs.

myPOOL Image Data Management

Wilbert Meier, marketing manager, central functions, Infraserv Knapsack: ’When we had to face the choice end of 2008 to introduce a database for an improved image data management we were spoilt for choice as far as the most appropriate system for our company was concerned. Today we can say for sure that we made the right decision with myPOOL. The system has all features which reduce the handling of image data in the every day life to a minimum. Due to the flexibility of the system it could be tailored to our individual needs and integrated into our system landscape without any problems. Club finder: Customer Requirements and Preferences visualized

The Aldiana club finder is an interactive tool for the club selection which was integrated into the Aldiana GmbH Internet presence. The programming includes a comprehensive parameter search function. The website visitor defines his wishes by scrolling up and down and finding thus geographic results and a club recommendation.

No more Fuss about the Website

Gaby Schäfer, first chairman of the theater group Delkenheim, says: ’The new website of the theater group is a real profit for us. Eventually our Internet presence meets the demands we have as a group of theater amateurs. Just in time for our 25th anniversary visitors and ensemble members can witness what’s going on in our group. As small but no less significant side effect we observe a stronger demand by new members – we are very happy about that and it shows us that the new sites are well received by our visitors.’

Due to the change from the commercial CMS to the Open Source Tool TYPO3 Aldiana could drastically cut costs. Stefan Mandler, Corporate Head of IT, Aldiana GmbH: ‘We could not only save license costs, but also some of our functionalities such as the Newsletter distribution being now integrated into the Typo3 System. Prior to this, things like that required an additional extra purchase.’ The porting of CMS RedDot to TYPO3 was the primary objective of the assignment. Based on the fact that the online booking engine turns by far more than 10 million Euro over we had to pay special attention on the optimization of the search engine. based-on-IT has visualized the Internet presence in a TYPO3-system in such a short time and completed it with new functions.
